Back to the Old Routine

So everythings gone back to normal now, I can sleep in on my days off again, and spend all afternoon watching things and stitching. And that's exactly what I've been doing. My hours at work are likely to go up for a bit though, as the one girl we had there had a hissy fit and quit when the assistant manager actually had the nerve to ask her to work while she was at work.
So stitching wise I finished the Targaryan bookmark and am about to start Lannister, and then all I have to do is Martell and put them all together.

As for Cindy, I think she benifited from the break as I am raring to go on her. I have now finished all the glass panes and will soon be moving on to the bushes..

 As for what I watched

West Wing S03 E20 tp S04 E08 - I have now rewatched every episode that I saw on  the original TV run, Season 4 is new territory for me.

Alegria - This is a strange little movie, about what you would expect from a fictional story in movie form as told by Cirque Du Soleil. It stars one of the mimes from the stage shows  and Frank Langella. It’s a melancholy fairy tale more visual than vocal which means it’s not the greatest show to stitch to.  The use of music is stunning and comes mainly from the tent show of the same name. I love all things Cirque and this unique little work is no exception

The Aristocats -  You have to love jazz loving cats. It’s the rule

Akira - I have a passion for old school anime and this is definitely one of the best….  And despite the fact that it takes place in Neo Tokyo. in 2019 30 years after WWIII  the story holds. It has to be close to 20 years since I watched it last and  I still love it. This is why I decided to make an effort into watching everything I own there are too many movies in my collection that haven’t been out in way to long.

Teen Wolf S03 E17-20 What are they doing to poor Stiles?

IHSW - February

And so I emerge from hibernation, blinking into the sun. There is indeed a world out there just waiting for me to, well, stitch.
The Olympics are now over (yay everyone, but especially Canadian curlers) and it's time for me to get back to my old routine, at least until the Tour de France starts, why can't I watch something that's shown at a decent time of day.
I did manage to take part in IHSW a bit, strolled into Carla's hangout late and left early, but that was all my parents fault, first they needed pie and then Mom decided she really should celebrate her 75th birthday.
So progress was made on both Cindy and the bookmarks this weekend. Won't be long before I finish the first page of Cindy, which given the way I stitch is actually page #4

February SFS and IHSW

Quick post to update my SFS. I really thought I'd have a zero month, but then the bookmarks ran me out of red and Cindy ran me out of white, so floss shopping I had to go so
SFS Febuary total
Floss - $1.70

I'm such a big spender. Didn't even take advantage of the splurge weekend, did find a pattern for yet another BAP but that was after the weekend so I refrained, also I DON'T NEED IT. Seriously have you seen my list, I am not allowed to get anymore BAPs for 3 years. I'd be highly surprised if I manage to stick to that vow.. Sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

As figured I've barely stitched at all in the last two weeks, my Olympic obsession is alive and well and having lots of fun. Though given the 12 hour time difference, sleep has been elusive, but it does leave my afternoon free to join Carla's IHSW hangout. Which will be the first time I've worked on Cindy since my last update.
I have done a little on the bookmarks though, got a fair chunk of Targaryen done

As for what I watched, well the Olympics and Jeopardy of course
Here's a great pic of the Gold medal Canadian Curling teams

Pre-Olympic rambling

When I was in grade 2 or 3 we had to write a paragraph on your favorite hobby.  I wrote my paragraph on watching the Olympics, I still wonder if my teacher thought that was a tad strange, especially since it wasn't even an Olympic year.   The truth of it has never changed I am an obsessive watcher of the Games.  (Good thing I'm Canadian, because, I'm sorry but the U.S. coverage of it sucks) And winter even more so than summer since my favorite sport to watch period is figure skating. (Yes Carla, curling is also awesome) I'm bringing this up now because it all starts tomorrow. Which means there isn't likely to be another blog until the games are done, not a lot of stitching either. especially on Cindy due to her need to take up way to much space.

Also I'm early on this blog because I need to whine, just a little.  Had lunch with one of my best friends today, really the only one that lives in my town, it was kind of a good bye lunch as he's moving away, not far, about 5 hours away, but still we won't be able to get together for our weekly coffee/lunch.  I'm going to miss him and have been feeling a bit sorry for myself today.

But enough of the pouting. I followed in Carla's example this week, and made a LIST, it's in my tab thingee which I managed to figure out, it's shorter than hers and not as organized, but that's how I do things anyway. Work got done on both Cindy and the GOT bookmarks. And things got watched as well. I even reorganized my Barbie cabinets and made my Barbie Olympic display. And watched lots of stuff of course.

White Collar S05E13 - Season Finale, there better be a sixth, they can’t leave it hanging there.

West Wing S03 E12-19

Glee S01 E18 - I have a bit of a love/hate thing with Glee, love the musical aspect, hate how unrealistic, mean and stupid the teachers are. For a show that prides itself on  pride and stopping bullying, there sure are a lot of bullies as protagonists. But I watch a few episodes when the mood hits.

Aladdin: The Return of Jafar -and Aladdin and The King of Thieves  I don’t have that many of the Disney sequels, but the Aladdin ones are kind of fun, especially the 3rd one.

Teen Wolf S03 E16 - Seriously, what’s going on!!!!

Frozen - Yes I went again.with that same friend, it was a very extended goodbye

100 Degrees Below Zero - I love all the really bad disaster movies on Netflix, they are just so much fun, the image and name really have nothing to do with what’s going on, but for a low low low budget Asylum produced movie, this one was pretty good, of course it helps that it starred Jeff Fahey and John Rhys-Davies

Supernatural S09E13 One of the funny ones, that then rips your heart out at the
end, typical Supernatural
